With the large amount of snow coming this Friday, it is really important you do things to protect yourself and your home. Here are some things Congressional Insurance Associates recommends:
1. Purchase salt to make sure your driveway or sidewalk does not accumulate ice. If someone were to trip on your driveway or sidewalk due to your negligence and get injured, they can sue you.
2. Make sure you have a battery backup for your sump pump just incase power were to go out due to the snow.
3. If you haven't turned off your water supply going outside, it may be too late to avoid freezing/bursting pipes, however on Thursday it will be 36 degrees, leaving you the opportunity to turn it off one last time.
4. Trim any overhanging trees. With snow, the weight may cause them to break and land on your home.
